| Beschrijving voorzijde | Cast iron cash coin of standard Song dynasty form, featuring a central square perforation surrounded by an inner raised rim. The four-character reign inscription 乾道元寶 (Qiandao Yuanbao) is arranged in regular script (kaishu) reading top-bottom-right-left around the central hole, with each character occupying one quadrant of the field. The legends are rendered in a clean, formal calligraphic style typical of Southern Song imperial coinage. A raised outer rim frames the coin on both obverse and reverse. |
