The characters are boldly cast in relief within a flat, unrimmed field, displaying the characteristic broad, somewhat coarsely rendered strokes typical of Southeast Asian tin imitations rather than the refined calligraphy of original Tang dynasty prototypes. A raised inner square rim borders the central hole, while the outer rim is low and irregular, consistent with the cast tin manufacture of this provincial imitation type. |
