| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central square perforation surrounded by a raised square rim, with four Chinese ideograms in Regular script (Kaishu) arranged in cruciform reading order — top, right, bottom, left — forming the four-character reign title legend 開禧通寶 (Kaixi Tongbao). The characters are boldly cast in relief within the inner field, bounded by a raised inner rim encircling the central hole and an outer raised rim defining the coin's edge. The flat field between the rims is plain and unadorned. The coin displays heavy iron corrosion and encrustation consistent with prolonged burial. |
