Obverse description Cast bronze cash coin featuring a central square hole flanked by four Chinese characters rendered in regular script (kaishu). The four-character inscription 建炎通寶 (Jianyan Tongbao) is arranged in the traditional top-bottom-right-left reading order around the central perforation. The characters are bold and well-defined within the inner raised rim, with the outer raised rim enclosing the field. The flat, unadorned field between the inner and outer rims is typical of Southern Song period cast coinage.
