Reverse description Crowned interlaced 'DOC' monogram of the Dansk Ostindisk Kompagni (Danish East India Company), surmounted by a royal crown in low relief. The three letters of the company cipher are intertwined in a formal monogram design, consistent with the heraldic conventions employed by European chartered trading companies of the late 17th century. The strike is characteristically weak and the flan irregular, reflecting the primitive casting techniques used in the Tranquebar mint.
