(Translation: 2 Bu)
Reverse description The reverse presents the personal seal and cursive signature of the mint official Mitsutsugu rendered in bold, flowing gyōsho (semi-cursive) script characters, occupying the majority of the central field. The characters are struck in high relief against a granular background typical of hammered Japanese gold coinage. A beaded border frames the entire perimeter of the irregular rectangular flan, consistent with Edo mint production standards of the period. The calligraphic quality of the inscription reflects the individual hand of the authorized mint official responsible for this issue.
