| Obverse description | Rectangular hammered planchet with rounded corners, bordered along the lower and right edges by a row of raised pellets. Two large kiri (paulownia) crests are depicted in relief, one positioned in the upper field and one in the lower field, each rendered with characteristic stylized floral and foliate detail. Between the two crests, the denomination inscription in Chinese characters occupies the central zone, reading '二分' (2 Bu), stamped in bold relief typical of Edo-period gold coinage. |

| Reverse description | Rectangular hammered surface bordered by a continuous row of raised pellets along the edges. The central field bears two large, boldly rendered Chinese characters in flowing cursive (sōsho) script, reading '光次' (Mitsutsugu), constituting the name-seal of the Mint Official Shozaburo Mitsutsugu. The characters are deeply incised and prominently raised, executed in the traditional calligraphic style characteristic of Tokugawa-period official gold coinage. |
