| Reverse description | Rectangular hammered surface bordered by a continuous row of raised pellets along the edges. The central field bears two large, boldly rendered Chinese characters in flowing cursive (sōsho) script, reading '光次' (Mitsutsugu), constituting the name-seal of the Mint Official Shozaburo Mitsutsugu. The characters are deeply incised and prominently raised, executed in the traditional calligraphic style characteristic of Tokugawa-period official gold coinage. |
