| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse presents two large paulownia (kiri) flower crests arranged vertically within a rectangular hammered field, one crest occupying the upper half and one the lower half, separated by a horizontal dividing line. Each kiri crest is rendered in high relief with characteristic five-lobed floral and foliate forms, executed in a bold, stylized manner typical of Edo-period goldsmith work. The entire field is framed by a beaded border running along all four sides, with the corners subtly chamfered. The denomination characters 二分 (2 Bu) are inscribed in the center between the two crests. The overall composition is symmetrical and ornate, reflecting the refined craftsmanship of the Kinza mint. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse displays large, boldly rendered Japanese cursive (gyosho/sosho-style) characters occupying the majority of the rectangular field, identifying the mint official responsible for production. The characters 文光次 (Mitsutsugu) are applied as a personal attestation stamp, inscribed in a flowing, calligraphic hand characteristic of Edo-period official coinage practice. The field is framed by a continuous beaded border along all four sides matching the obverse, and the surface retains the characteristic hammered texture of hand-struck gold coinage. The inscription serves both as a quality guarantee and as the engraver's official signature. |
