Obverse description The obverse presents two large paulownia (kiri) flower crests arranged vertically within a rectangular hammered field, one crest occupying the upper half and one the lower half, separated by a horizontal dividing line. Each kiri crest is rendered in high relief with characteristic five-lobed floral and foliate forms, executed in a bold, stylized manner typical of Edo-period goldsmith work. The entire field is framed by a beaded border running along all four sides, with the corners subtly chamfered. The denomination characters 二分 (2 Bu) are inscribed in the center between the two crests. The overall composition is symmetrical and ornate, reflecting the refined craftsmanship of the Kinza mint.
