Additional information

Bolivia's 1991 coinage reform followed years of catastrophic hyperinflation — the boliviano itself had only been reintroduced in 1987, replacing the peso boliviano at a rate of one million to one after inflation peaked above 20,000% annually in 1985. The "small type" designation distinguishes this issue from a subsequent larger-format 2 bolivianos, a revision driven by vending machine compatibility and anti-counterfeiting concerns in the early 1990s.

KM#206.1 is the scarcer of the two types in circulation-worn examples.
