Obverse description Crowned quadripartite shield bearing the four-fold arms of the Abbey of Fulda, surmounted by an elaborate princely crown with cross finial. The shield is divided by a central cross into four quarters, each bearing distinct armorial charges. A circular Latin legend surrounds the central device, reading the name and titles of the abbot-prince Constantine of Buttlar.
