Obverse description Central field features the cantonal arms of Schwyz: a vertically-lined shield bearing a central cross, displayed within an ornate cartouche-style frame. The shield is flanked symmetrically by two laurel branches tied at the base, forming a wreath that frames the lower portion of the design. The circumferential legend CANTON SCHWYZ arcs along the upper rim in raised Latin characters, separated by a rosette or star ornament at the apex. The coin's milled border is clearly defined, encircling the entire composition.
