The circular legend REPVBLICA · ROMANA · runs around the periphery in Latin capitals, separated by decorative stops. The reeded edge is visible at the rim. The overall composition reflects the revolutionary republican iconography adopted during the French-influenced Roman Republic of 1798–1799. |
