Obverse description Front-facing effigy of King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) in military dress uniform adorned with royal decorations, wearing his characteristic spectacles. The king's portrait occupies the central field, rendered in fine relief with detailed rendering of the ornate collar and insignia. The Thai legend naming the king appears to the left of the portrait, while the reign designation appears to the right.

(Translation: Bhumibol Adulyadej Rama IX)
Reverse description Central device featuring the crowned royal cypher of King Rama IX (ภปร), surmounted by a tiered royal umbrella with radiating sunburst above, all set within an ornate Thai decorative cartouche in the field. The denomination '๒ บาท' (2 Baht) appears below the central device. The legend 'ประเทศไทย' (Thailand) arcs along the upper periphery, while the commemorative inscription 'รัชมังคลาภิเษก ๒ กรกฎาคม ๒๕๓๑' curves along the lower periphery, recording the date of the Rajamangala celebrations on 2 July B.E. 2531.
