Obverse description Conjoined busts of King Rama IX (Bhumibol Adulyadej) and Queen Sirikit facing slightly right, the King in military uniform adorned with decorations and wearing spectacles, the Queen in formal dress. A decorative royal emblem appears to the left of the effigies and a stylized royal ornament to the right. The field is plain with no peripheral legend on this face.

Reverse description Central device depicts a seated figure of a traditional Thai deity or guardian spirit in classical Thai artistic style, holding a trident-like staff aloft in the right hand, seated upon an ornate throne with decorative elements at the base. The circumferential Thai-script legend reads '50 Years Bank of Thailand, 10 December 2535' arranged around the upper periphery, with 'ประเทศไทย' (Thailand) at lower left and '๒ บาท' (2 Baht) at lower right, flanked by small decorative star-like ornaments.
