Mohammad Ali Shah's reign lasted barely two years before he was deposed in 1909 following the Constitutional Revolution — the same political upheaval that almost certainly killed serious production of this type. Pattern issues from this period exist as exploratory strikes, likely produced to test designs or denominations that never achieved official approval amid the constitutional crisis consuming the Qajar court.
Bronze patterns in Qajar numismatics are genuinely uncommon. Gold ashrafi coinage was the prestige denomination; a bronze pattern at this value suggests either a proposed base-metal substitute or a presentation piece. The KM pattern designation confirms it never reached circulation.
