备注

Officers' clubs across British India occasionally issued their own internal scrip during the Second World War to manage canteen and mess transactions without drawing on official currency reserves. Tezpur, in Assam, was a significant military staging post during the Burma campaign — the town sat close enough to the front that normal banking arrangements were frequently disrupted.

Club-issued scrip of this type was strictly local and redeemable only within the issuing mess, which meant most examples were spent, lost, or discarded rather than retained. Two-anna denominations served the smallest everyday purchases. Survivor rate is accordingly low.
