| Obverse description | The Ashoka Lion Capital, the national emblem of India, is depicted centrally within a raised circular border, rendered in fine relief showing three lions atop the abacus with the Dharma Chakra and attendant animals visible below. The legend GOVERNMENT . OF . INDIA arcs around the upper portion of the circular border in Latin script. A five-pointed star appears at each of the four outer corners of the square flan, serving as the distinguishing ornamental feature of this pattern variety. The field within the circle is smooth, lending emphasis to the detailed sculptural quality of the central device. |
