备注

The Landhi Field Officers Club was a British Indian Army mess facility located at Landhi Cantonment near Karachi, then part of British India. Club chits like this one — denominated in annas and redeemable only within the mess — were a standard solution to the chronic small-change shortage that plagued military cantonments across the subcontinent during the war years, when coinage was being hoarded and base metals redirected to the war effort.

These chits circulated exclusively among officers and carried no value outside the issuing establishment. Most were destroyed when accounts were settled, which is why surviving examples from minor cantonment clubs are genuinely uncommon.
