Obverse description The obverse features a large ornate tughra — the calligraphic monogram of the Pakistani state — rendered in intricate Arabic script and positioned centrally in the field, flanked by two symmetrical sprays of laurel or wheat. The legend 'GOVERNMENT OF PAKISTAN' arcs across the upper portion of the coin in Latin capitals, with the date divided on either side of the tughra's base. Five small five-pointed stars are evenly distributed around the inner border, which is composed of a continuous ring of beading. The overall design conveys both Islamic artistic heritage and the newly established national identity of Pakistan.
