Karim Khan Zand never took the title of Shah, ruling instead as *Vakil ol-Ro'aya* — regent of the people — a calculated political stance that distinguished his administration from the brutal succession wars that defined mid-18th century Persia. The Yazd mint was among the most consistently productive under his rule, benefiting from the relative stability his government imposed on the central plateau after decades of Safavid collapse and Afghan occupation. Type C of this series reflects a deliberate die reform introduced to standardize fabric across provincial mints that had drifted significantly in execution.
