| Obverse description | Central field dominated by a bold Nasta'liq calligraphic legend arranged in sweeping, interlocking lines across the flan, reading the invocation 'Ya Karim' (O Generous One, an epithet of Karim Khan Zand) together with the mint name Rasht (Dar al-Marz) and the regnal year 1184 AH. The inscription is framed within a decorative cartouche or panel with pointed arch elements at the top, filled with arabesques and floral motifs. The field surrounding the central panel is striated with fine radiating lines, and a border of pellets encircles the entire design. The coin is struck on an irregular, slightly wavy flan characteristic of hammered Zand-period silver coinage. |
