Opmerkingen

Bradbury Wilkinson produced this note for the Banco Nacional Ultramarino at a moment when Portugal's colonial banking network was under considerable strain — wartime shipping disruptions made physical distribution of currency to overseas territories genuinely difficult, and notes printed in London for Portuguese colonial use sometimes sat in storage far longer than intended before reaching circulation.

Four separate signature combinations are recorded for P#82, all pairing a rotating senior signatory with the fixed António dos Santos Viegas — suggesting Viegas held a stable administrative role across multiple years of the issue while the countersigning authority changed hands more than once.
