| Obverse description | Central field features a stylized solar or floral medallion motif rendered in relief, depicting a radiating sun or chrysanthemum device with pointed flame-like projections encircling a central boss. Four large Chinese characters are arranged around the central device in the cardinal positions of the field, reading 保大寳鑑 (Bao Dai Bao Chien). The legend is executed in a bold, classical Chinese calligraphic style. The entire design is contained within a raised beaded border running along the rim. |
