| Obverse description | Central field features a large stylized numeral '100' in which the two zeros are rendered as the Turkish crescent and star emblem, forming a bold commemorative logo. Below the central device, the legend 'TBMM'NIN AÇILIŞININ 100. YILI' is inscribed in raised Latin characters, with the date '2020' and the Istanbul mint mark appearing beneath. The denomination '2,5 Türk Lirası' is placed along the lower border, flanked by two raised dots. The circular outer legend reads 'TÜRKİYE CUMHURİYETİ' on the left and 'REPUBLIC OF TURKEY' on the right, separated at the apex by a small crescent and star device, all rendered in a matte finish against a recessed field. |

| Additional information |
The Grand National Assembly series, issued by the Darphane beginning in the early 2000s, commemorates the founding institution of the Turkish Republic — the parliament convened by Mustafa Kemal in Ankara in April 1920, at a moment when Istanbul's Ottoman government was under Allied occupation and the sultanate was cooperating with occupying forces. The Ankara assembly was, at its inception, technically a rebel legislature.
The 2,5 Lira denomination in bronze sits at the heavier end of Turkish commemorative coinage, a format the Darphane has used consistently for collector-focused issues rather than circulation.
