Nasreddin Hoca — the medieval Anatolian folk philosopher whose sardonic wit became embedded across Turkish, Persian, and Central Asian oral tradition — was the subject of a themed collector series issued by the Darphane beginning in the mid-2010s. Each coin in the series illustrates a different fable attributed to him, a figure who probably lived in 13th-century Akşehir and whose tomb there remains a pilgrimage site. The "No.4" designation places this piece as the fourth release in that sequence, making completionist assembly the primary driver of demand rather than individual issue scarcity.
