The Çanakkale 1915 Bridge — officially named to invoke the Gallipoli campaign's centenary — opened in March 2022 and became the longest suspension bridge in the world by main span at 2,023 meters, a figure deliberately chosen to reference the year of its inaugural anniversary target. Turkey's mint issued this commemorative almost simultaneously with the opening ceremony, an unusually tight production timeline driven by presidential directive.
