| Obverse description | The obverse is laid out in a letterpress format typical of early Portuguese treasury notes, with three engraved oval vignettes across the upper portion — the central one containing an allegorical figure on horseback flanked by two smaller medallion vignettes. The body of the note carries manuscript and printed text in Portuguese, including the place and date of issue (Lisboa, 1805) and the denomination stated in words and numerals (Rs. 2$400). The lower portion bears two manuscript signatures alongside handwritten serial number and a red cancel stamp. |
