Reverse description Quartered armorial shield of the Landgraviate of Hessen-Homburg, surmounted by an elaborate electoral crown, occupying the central field. The quarters display the lion of Hesse, the striped field of Thuringia, stars, and the lion of Homburg, reflecting the dynastic heraldry of the ruling house. Mintmaster initials R and A appear to the left and right of the shield respectively, each flanked by rosette ornaments. The fractional denomination 2/3 appears in an oval cartouche at the base of the shield. The circular Latin legend MONETA NOVA ARGENT HASS HOMBVRG 1692 runs along the periphery within a milled border.
