This is a modern fantasy or commemorative reproduction, not a circulating banknote. The Netherlands adopted the euro in 2002, ending gulden issuance entirely, and no Dutch central bank authority issued a 2½ gulden note in 2019. Pieces of this type — often produced by private engravers for philatelic or collector markets — occasionally carry genuine intaglio work, and Matej Gabris is a Slovak engraver with legitimate credentials in that field.
