Obverse description The Dutch lion rampant occupies the central field, depicted in a stylized heraldic manner holding a sword upright in its right paw and a bundle of arrows in its left. A small bow privy mark appears above and to the left of the lion, with the mint master's mark visible in the lower field. The circular legend KONINKRIJK DER NEDERLANDEN arcs around the upper periphery, while the denomination 2½ ECU is inscribed along the lower periphery, both flanked by a ring of twelve stars symbolizing the European Community. The date 1995 is positioned to the lower left of the lion in the field.
