The "T" suffix in the Pick reference identifies this as the Chad issue within the BEAC's multi-country series — each member state of the Central African Economic and Monetary Community received its own country letter, with Chad assigned T. The 2002 date places this note in the early run of the redesigned 2000 franc denomination that replaced the earlier portrait-based series following the 1993–94 CFA franc devaluation, which cut the currency's value against the French franc by half overnight.
Three signature combinations are recorded for this type, reflecting governor-level turnover at the BEAC's Yaoundé headquarters.
