| Obverse description | Cream-coloured note with ochre letterpress throughout. The issuer's name, LANDESBANK DER RHEINPROVINZ, is printed in large capitals along the top and bottom margins. A central intaglio vignette, framed by a geometric guilloche border of diagonal hatching, carries the denomination ZWEI MILLIONEN MARK in bold block letters. Below the denomination, a text block in Fraktur script reads the promise-to-pay clause, dated Düsseldorf, den 1. September 1923, signed on behalf of the General-Direktion. A serial number appears vertically along the right margin. |
