| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse is printed in dark blue on cream paper with a serrated border running the full perimeter. On the left half, a circular vignette contains a letterpress illustration of the Runenstein bei Schleswig (the Gottorf runestone), surrounded by trees, with the caption below reading the runic inscription attribution to King Swen. The denomination "Zwei Millionen Mark" is set in large Gothic blackletter script occupying the upper right quadrant, beneath which the redemption text, date of issue (14. August 1923), and the issuing authority appear in smaller Kurrent script, followed by two manuscript signatures. The serial number appears in a ruled box at the upper left, and the printer's imprint "L. Handorff, Kiel" is noted at the lower left margin. |
