正面描述 Printed in dark red on pale cream paper, the obverse centres on a large vignette of a winged female figure (angel) with outstretched wings, above a bold Gothic-script legend reading 'Zwei Milliarden'; below the figure, stylised flames surround the word 'Mark'. A red-bordered panel at left carries validity text in vertical orientation, while the serial number and series letter appear at right; the city seals of Eschweiler and Stolberg flank the date '16. 备注

This 2-milliard Mark note belongs to the German hyperinflation Notgeld series issued jointly by the twin industrial towns of Eschweiler and Stolberg in the Rhineland — both centers of coal mining and non-ferrous metal production. Joint municipal issues at this denomination level were administratively practical: local governments were scrambling to print emergency currency faster than the central Reichsbank could supply it, and combining resources across neighboring Gemeinden was one way to move quickly.

The Merkelbach reference covering this series (15–17) indicates multiple variants likely distinguished by date or issuing office designation. By late 1923, denominations at this scale were obsolete within days of printing.
