The design is boldly struck in a primitive archaic style characteristic of early electrum and silver fractions from the Lesbian island mints. No legend or inscription accompanies the type. The surrounding field is plain, with the naturally irregular flan edge framing the device. |

| Reverse description | A shallow incuse square punched into the reverse, typical of early archaic Greek coinage technique wherein a single punch was used to secure the flan during striking. The incuse depression is rough and irregular in texture, displaying the characteristic marks of a hand-held punch tool. No secondary device or inscription is present within the incuse. The plain, unadorned punch mark is consistent with the earliest period of Greek silver fractional coinage. |
