| Beschrijving voorzijde | Quarter-circle cut segment of a Spanish colonial silver real, showing a partial crowned shield device in the field above a fragmentary legend. A small floral or rosette countermark, applied by Dutch West Indies authorities, is visible in the upper curved area of the piece. The legend fragment reads DEI G, representing a portion of the original host coin's royal titulature in Latin. The surfaces show characteristic wear and oxidation consistent with circulation use. The cut edge is straight on two sides, retaining the reeded edge of the original milled host coin along the arc. |
