Two official countermarks have been applied to the field: a bundle of arrows (C18) stamped prominently, and a crowned 'CC' monogram (C17), both serving as revaluation marks for local circulation in Sint Maarten. Remnants of the original Spanish colonial legend and design elements are visible across the cut surface, consistent with late 18th-century Mexican or other New World mint production. |
