Obverse description Crowned and draped bust of King George V facing left, wearing the Imperial State Crown and military uniform with elaborate collar and decorations, as engraved by Bertram Mackennal. The effigy occupies the central field, with the surrounding Latin legend reading GEORGIVS V DEI GRA: REX ET IND:IMP: arranged around the periphery. The rim is defined by a continuous beaded border. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail on the crown jewels and royal regalia.
