| Obverse description | Armored and crowned bust of Frederick II facing right, wearing elaborately engraved plate armor with a regal crown atop the head. The king holds an upright sword over his right shoulder, its blade extending toward the upper left of the field. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine detailing on the crown, gorget, and pauldrons. The peripheral legend reads FRIDERICVS BORVSSORVM REX, encircling the portrait within a linear border. |
