The 17-kreuzer denomination is one of the more curious products of Habsburg monetary policy — the odd face value exists because these coins were struck to circulate at par with the Dutch Dreizehnstüber in Silesian and Bohemian trade networks, bridging incompatible coinage systems without revaluing either. Prague's output during this window spans the Seven Years' War, when Bohemia was occupied by Prussian forces in 1757 and the mint's operations were severely disrupted. Frederick II's troops famously seized Austrian war materials across the region, and mint continuity during occupation years makes date runs from this issue genuinely uneven.
