| Reverse description | A crowned double-headed Imperial eagle displayed in the field, its wings spread and each head facing outward, bearing an elaborate quartered heraldic shield on its breast depicting the dynastic arms of the House of Habsburg-Lorraine. The denomination XVII appears prominently at the base of the eagle between its talons. A circular Latin legend surrounds the design, incorporating the mint letter and date distributed within the legend. The composition is bold and well-centred in the characteristic Baroque style of the Vienna monetary reform coinage. |
