Kyme was the dominant city of Aeolis throughout much of the Hellenistic period, and its autonomous bronze issues continued well after Roman reorganization of the province of Asia in 133 BC. The city retained local magistrate coinage under Roman oversight, which is why issues attributable to this broad final century span so widely in date — the magistrate names recorded on these bronzes are the primary tool for narrowing them further, and SNG Copenhagen 113 preserves one of the more reliably attributed specimens in that sequence.
