| Reverse description | A stag standing to the right in the field, rendered in profile with fine detail to the legs and head. The ethnic inscription ΒΑΡΓΥ / ΛHNTΩΝ (of the Bargylians) is divided and disposed in two columns flanking the stag, one to the left and one to the right, in Greek characters. The design is typical of Carian civic bronze issues, employing a local sacred animal associated with the cult of Artemis Kindyas, patron deity of Bargylia. |
