Issued to honor King Bhumibol Adulyadej's receipt of the Magnesium Award from the International Union of Soil Sciences in 2012 — recognizing decades of royal-initiated agricultural development projects across Thailand's rural highlands — this gold commemorative was produced in strictly limited quantities by the Royal Thai Mint.
