Obverse description Unadorned bare head effigy of King Fernando VII facing right, rendered in bold relief with naturalistic portrait style. The king's hair is loosely curled and swept forward over the temples and brow in a neoclassical manner. The legend encircles the bust along the periphery, with the date 1822 placed in the lower exergual area flanked by stops. The field is smooth and unadorned, emphasizing the portrait. The milled edge is clearly visible at the coin's border.
