Obverse description Central field features the crowned oval coat of arms of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, quartered with the characteristic bull's head and eagle devices of the duchy, surrounded by an elaborate baroque mantle or cartouche with ornate scrollwork and decorative chain border. The shield is surmounted by a ducal crown. The circular legend reading FRIEDERICUS D.G. DUX MECLENB. runs along the outer rim, with the date 1764 appearing at the bottom of the coin below the arms.
