Obverse description Within a dotted border on the square klippe flan, a crowned shield bearing the royal cypher 'ER' (Ericus Rex) in the field, with the denomination numeral '16' appearing to the left and the inscription 'ORE' to the right of the shield. A small cross appears either above or below the value figures on both sides of the shield. The crown surmounting the shield is rendered in high relief with detailed floral and foliate ornament.

Reverse description Within a dotted border, a crowned shield bearing the arms of Sweden — three crowns arranged two above and one below — in high relief. The date is split across the field with '15' to the left of the shield and '6Z' (62) to the right, flanking the central armorial device. The large ornate crown surmounting the shield features elaborate detailing consistent with mid-sixteenth-century Swedish hammered coinage. The square klippe format gives the flan its distinctive diamond orientation when held at forty-five degrees.
