| Obverse description | Veiled and diademed head of Queen Philistis facing left, rendered in fine high relief with delicate facial features characteristic of the Syracusan engraving tradition. The queen's hair is arranged in soft waves beneath a richly draped veil that falls in parallel folds over her neck and shoulder. A stephane or diadem is visible beneath the veil across her forehead. The portrait conveys a serene, idealized regality befitting a Hellenistic queen consort. The field is plain, with no legend on the obverse. |

| Reverse description | A fast quadriga driven to the left by a winged Nike, who extends her arms to guide the four galloping horses. A solar star or eight-rayed symbol appears in the upper field above the horses. The two-part legend ΒΑΣΙΛΙΣΣΑΣ in the upper field and ΦΙΛΙΣΤΙΔΟΣ in the exergue identifies the coin as struck in the name of Queen Philistis. The composition follows the grand Syracusan chariot-race tradition established on earlier coinage, executed with vigorous, dynamic modeling of the horses and chariot wheel. |
